Memphis 901 FC Assistant Coach Ben Pirmann is this episode’s guest.

Pirmann was solid college player, enjoying several successful season as a midfielder at Michigan State University. Tim Van Horn and Brodee Scott ask him about his playing days. Eventually, he transitioned from midfield to eventually coaching on the touchline of the Spartans. That spell went extremely well. In addition to four Elite Eight appearances, Pirmann was named National Top Assistant Coach in 2016 & 2017 by College Soccer News.
Pirmann left no doubt about his leadership abilities during his next stop. He led Detroit City FC to a 49-17-17 record in the NPSL (now in NISA), routinely drawing crowds of over 6,000. He is remembered fondly by the DCFC faithful.
At Memphis 901 FC, Pirmann continues to take pride in his work on the tactical side of the game. He discusses the necessary adjustments to coaching that come with the current sports shutdown.
